Thus, my mother and her siblings were brought up celebrating Xmas albeit without any religious significance. I assume that because, in their mind, their celebration of Xmas had to do with their British identity and not with Christianity, they continued to celebrate Xmas even after they all became religious. A couple of years ago I was invited on to the Esther Rantzen show to talk about whether children need fathers. Obviously I was arguing for the motion, but one of the women arguing against it had a son conceived by artificial insemination who till this day does not know the identity of his biological father. When asked why she wanted a child, she said that she felt a natural urge to be a mother, that her biological clock was ticking away and that she saw no reason why she should she lose out just because she did not have a partner with whom to have the baby.

And then I got it: I will write a article about the yearning for inspiration.

Passover is the time of year to throw off our individual enslavements and emancipate ourselves to achieve the desires of our authentic self—our soul In the West and especially in the USA people pride themselves on being free. Indeed it is freedom that America would like to export to the rest of the world. However the question needs to be asked: are people living in western style democracies really free?
