The recent terror attack in London was unique--it was carried out by British-born fundamentalists, not foreigners. After suffering years of IRA-sponsored terrorism, the question people here in Britain are asking is why people would want to blow their fellow citizens and themselves to smithereens in a crowded rush-hour underground train. Most people just cannot fathom this new evil perpetrated by seemingly normal people who could have been their neighbors or classmates. Recommend this article... |

There are no words to adequately describe the horror caused by the tsunami. Watching the disaster unfolding on the film taken by an amateur cameraman in Aceh, Indonesia, left me shaking. How quickly the terror struck! People were going about their daily lives one second and drowning the next. Over 100,000 people are now reported to have lost their lives in this exceptional tragedy. We all have one question on our lips: why? Why did innocent babies and children have to die such a painful death? For those of us who believe in G-d the question is: how could He have done this? So the war in Iraq seemed to be quick and definitive. Now nearly three months on, the almost daily attacks on coalition troops, the deep resentment by the Iraqis and the inability to find any weapons of mass destruction has caused many of us to revisit the justifications for war. It is true that Saddam’s Bathist regime was extremely brutal and repressive, but did its removal warrant the killing of tens of thousands of Iraqi soldiers? Why is Gorge W. Bush any better then Saddam? Saddam killed and repressed his enemy and so did Bush, the only difference being that Saddam killed his enemy at home and Bush killed his enemies abroad. So we find ourselves asking does Bushs’ coalition really control the moral high ground? Is the coalition really anything more than just a bunch of murderers with good spin-doctors?
